PURPOSE:To display pictures with high reliability with respect to a device for displaying pictures of good quality with high image resolution by providing a liquid layer and a heating element for generating foam in the liquid layer, connecting liquid circulating paths to the liquid layer and performing vapourization and liquefaction in the circulating paths. CONSTITUTION:When a display element 31 is driven continuously, the temp. of a thin liquid film 32 is risen by accumulated heat and may generate vapor foam. Since the foam can be a cause for noise, the foaming is prevented by so arranging the element that the liquid of the film 32 circulates among the element 31, a vapourizing chamber 33 and a liquefying chamber 34. The chamber 33 deprives excess heat from the liquid and the evaporating rate of the liquid is increased by a pressure reducing means 35. The heat is released to the outside of the system by the chamber 33. When a laser beam is irradiated to the element 31 intermittently, and observing light 45a is irradiated to the element 31 while making images, the reflected light 45b thereof is projected on a screen. Thus, thermal noises and noises by pressure are removed and pictures are displayed with excellent drivability and reliability. |
