PURPOSE:To suppress the growth of dogbones and to form a rectangular sectional shape by installing upper, lower idle rolls in the position where the dogbone is grown on the inlet side for a rough material. CONSTITUTION:A frame 8 is provided to the free end of a supporting plate 5 in its vertical direction, and a shaft 10 is fixed to the frame 8 in its horizontal direction. A lower idle roll E' is supported freely rotatably with inclination to the advance direction in the position where the roll contacts with an edger roll A displaced at some angle to the inlet side of a rough material B by way of a shaft 9. An upper idle roll E is installed in the position facing the roll E' with similar inclination. The idle roll E is supported freely rotatably to a shaft 12, and the shaft 12 is fixed horizontally to a frame 13. The roll E is moved upward or downward by a cylinder 15 in accordance with the thickness of the material B. |
