PURPOSE:To provide a continuous hardening device for steel plates which improves the use efficiency of cooling water in particular and the accuracy of hardening treatment considerably by providing means for maintaining the temp. of the cooling water in a water storage tank for the purpose of continuous hardening of steel plates constant. CONSTITUTION:Water supply means of a pump 100 and a piping 102 are connected to the water supply main 64 of the above-described water storage tank 10 and water supply means of a pump 104 and a piping 106 to the water supply main 66, respectively. Control means 108, 110 for flow rates provided respectively in the midways of the pipings 102, 106 are controlled to open or close by a control device 112. Further the opening and closing thereof are so controlled that the temp. of the water in the tank 10 attains prescribed values in accordance with the detection signal from the water temp. detector 114 in the tank 10 and the water temp. detectors 116, 118 of the pipings 102, 106. More spcifically, the temp. of the cooling water in the tank 10 which is increased by hardening works is detected 114 and is transmitted to the device 112 which feeds operation signals to the devices 108, 110 so as to increase the flow of the cooling water. As a result, the temp. of the cooling water in the tank 10 is maintained constant, the hardening works meeting the steel kinds of the steel plates to be hardened are carried out at optimum water temp. and the hardened steel plates of low costs are obtained. |
