MANUFACTURE OF POLYESTER CONTAINER

PURPOSE:To manufacture a polyester container by heating the opening of a cylindrical container main body made by melting, extruding and fixing by heating thermoplastic polyester consisting essentially of repeated unit of ethylene terephthalate to a tubular form to a specified temperature and seaming the metallic plate. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic polyester consisting essentially repeated unit of ethylene terephthalate is melted, extruded, stretched and fixed by heating to mold thermally a flange part 2 that opens outward on the upper end of the body of a cylindrical container 1. The flange part 2 is heated to temperature ranging from 15 deg.C above the glass transition temperature of polyester to 10 deg.C below the heat fixing temperature, and a metallic plate 3 is fitted. The flange part 2 and the bent part 3b of the metallic plate 3 are seamed and peripheral part of the metallic plate 3 is double seamed and fastened.
