The fire-extinguishing passage for a plastic tube (2) through a wall (1) has a casing tube (3) which comprises a sheath (4) which melts easily and has an insert (5) consisting of an extinguishing agent which smothers flames. The extinguishing agent may be an extinguishing powder or a halon. Next to the casing tube (3), a second casing tube (6) can be arranged, the insert (8) of which foams up when heated. The first casing tube (3) thus extinguishes the burning tube (2), while the second casing tube (6) closes off the wall opening by forming foam and prevents fire and smoke gases from passing through. <IMAGE>
