PURPOSE:To enable continuous detection of the position of a running vehicle on the ground, by detecting the phase difference between modulated waves received at both ends of a delay induction line. CONSTITUTION:A carrier wave fC modulated by a modulated wave fM is transmitted from a transmitter TM on a vehicle T to a delay induction line DL via an on-vehicle transmission antenna SA. The wave is received by ground receivers GA and GB provided at points A and B respectively, the demodulated wave fM is taken out therefrom, the phase difference between the modulated waves received at these points by a phase comparator TPC, and it is transformed into a vehicle position signal and delivered. By this constitution, the position of the vehicle T can be known continuously on the ground, with high security and without difficulty in construction. |
