PURPOSE:To reduce the clogging of a head by providing mountain-shaped projections which have prescribed height, density, etc., on the surface of a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:On a magnetic thin-film layer 2a of ferromagnetic metal formed on a base 1a, steep mountain-shaped projections 3a, 4a... which have 100-2,000Angstrom and density of 10,000-1,000,000 pieces per 1mm.<2> on an average are provided, and a head when used repeatedly has less clogging, thereby reducing the clogging of the head. At parts other than the projections 3a, 4a..., granular, creased, or earthworm-like projections lower than said projections and having 0.1-10mum intervals and <=(10:1) ratios of length and height are provided to obtain a more effect. |
