摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the measuring efficiency of the flowmeter, by providing a means for returning a piston to a measurement starting position forcibly, in the flowmeter which detects the flow rate without contact in correspondence with the amount of the displacement of a free piston. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of the glass piston 1 having the free piston 4 in the inside are closed by caps having fluid outlet and inlet ports 8 and 9. A displacement detector 5, which generates a voltage in response to the movement of the piston, is provided in the cap 2. The fluid outlet and inlet ports 8 and 9 are connected to the pipe 11, which is in turn connected to a pipe 10 that is communicated to a fluid source, a surge tank, and the like. The pipes 11 and 10 are connected by a bypass 12 that is in parallel with the cylinder 4, a pump 14, and paths of a four way valve 13. In this constitution, when the fluid enters a chamber 6 of the cylinder 1 through the pipe 10 and the outlet and inlet port 8, the piston 4 is pushed to the right, and the voltage corresponding to the flow rate of the fluid is generated in the detector 5. At the same time, the four way valve 13 is switched to a chain line and the piston 4 is forcibly returned. Therefore the measuring efficiency is improved.
