The hand-held tool, e.g. shears, is actuated by an opening and shutting movement. It has a housing with an elongated guide slot (22) . Levers (28) for opening and shutting are hinged in the housing and are spring-loaded so as to expand from it (10). Front active portions (32) are joined to the levers and so subjected to the spring action, hinging with them about a pin (34) between the open and shut positions. The levers can be pressed in opposition to the spring, and forced in the retracted conditon into the housing (10). To hold them there, the pin can be slid along the guide slot. |
