PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of a dip-plated metallic layer or the like from occurring and enhance durability, by a method wherein a coating layer stable to heat, sulfuric acid and nitric acid is provided on a surface of a metallic layer of a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of the dip-plated metallic layer 4 provided on a base metal 5, a coating material is coated by dipping to produce the coating layer 6 excellent in resistance to heat, sulfuric acid and nitric acid. The coating material may be ''Vestar'' (commercial name for a product of Dow Corning) which is a special silicone resin containing dimethyl polysiloxane as a main constituent. |
