<p>PURPOSE:To improve SN ratio and stability in a recording material suitable for heat mode recording, by forming a metallic recording layer, a metallic compd. layer, and a mixture layer on a transparent substrate, and specifying a thickness of a metallic compd. stabilization layer. CONSTITUTION:A disc-shaped transparent substrate 1 of polymethyl methacrylate is set in a vacuum vapor deposition chamber. A specified metal, such as Sb or Bi, and a specified metallic oxide, such as GeO2 or Sm2O3, are respectively mixed and vapor deposited to form a mixture layer 5 and a metal oxide stabilization layer 4. Then, a metal recording layer 2 made of Bi or the like is vapor deposited. A metallic compd. stabilization layer 3 made of oxide, such as Sm2O3 is vapor deposited to 10-20nm thickness to provide an information recording material. This layer 3 is made by selecting one of oxide, nitride, and fluoride of a specified metal, such as aluminum, thus permitting the obtained information recording material to be improved in stability and SN ratio by irradiating it from the transparent substrate 1 side with laser light.</p> |
