PURPOSE:To raise the stability of a flywheel for a high speed rotation while improving the strength of the flywheel by constituting it while fitting a reinforcement ring comprising a shape storing alloy over the outer peripheral part of a disc consisting of FRP, etc. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel is constituted by fitting a reinforcement ring 2 comprising a shape storing alloy over the outer peripheral part of a disc 1 consisting of FRP, etc. In this case, a reinforcement ring 2 is previously subjected to a shape storing treatment into a shape having the inner diameter slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the disc 1 during the process of assembly, while, with regard to material quality of the shape storing alloy, such a material should be selected, whose transportation point is lower than the normal temperature and which offers a high temperature phase at the normal temperature. And, after fitting the enforcement ring 2 over the disc 1 in the condition where it has been cold-extended, it is tightened over the disc 1 after permitting it to be recovered in the original shape at the normal temperature. Hereby, the strength of the flywheel is improved by the enforcement ring 2, allowing the stability thereof to be raised at a high speed rotation. |
