PURPOSE:To rationalize information transmitting job, by informing it to a caller automatically when a called party is absent or busy on another phone and making the caller possible for communication, in a private branch exchange system using a computer. CONSTITUTION:A caller inputs an exclusive code of a called party from a telephone set nearby, e.g., An, to activate a master set 4 with an instruction from a computer 2 and to call a required slave set, e.g., B1. Then, the called party operates an exchange 1 via a telephone set nearby, e.g., A1 to communicate with the An. If the called party is absent due to a meeting, the absence is inputted to the computer 2 from an absence recorder 5 in advance. The computer 2 transmits an absence signal to the An via the exchange 1 to inform the absence to the caller. Similarly, if the called party is occupied on another phone, the computer 2 informs it to the caller via the exchange 1. |
