A digital/analog converter is proposed which has a comparatively high resolution. In the digital/analog converter, the bits of the input signal are divided into two groups (A, B). The first bit group passes through a pulse width modulator and the second group passes through an amplitude modulator in the form of a digital/analog converter (28). The outputs of pulse width modulator and digital/analog converter lead to an addition circuit (36), the output signal of which forms the output signal of the digital/analog converter. The last-mentioned circuit can be followed by an amplifier and a demodulator circuit (38), the demodulator of which filters out the useful analog signal. Other bits of the input signal of the digital/analog converter can be used for multiplying the output signal. It is particularly advantageous to use one further bit for identifying the polarity of the analog output signal. <IMAGE> |
