PURPOSE:To obtain an embossing roll with a very sharply rugged surface by a method wherein fine-grain and comparatively soft metal and coarse-grain and high-hardness metal are sprayed metal and coarse-grain and high-hardness metal are sprayed alternately to form multiple layers. CONSTITUTION:Coarse-grain and high-hardness metal is sprayed on the surface of the rolled base material 1 composed of stock materials such as metal, wood, plastics, paper, etc. to a rough extent that the surface of the base material is exposed partially to obtain a layer 2. Then, a layer 3 on which fine-grain, relatively soft metal is sprayed is put on the layer 2 to make a layer 4 on which coarse-grain, high-hardness metal is sprayed. This is repeated in the following. Fine-grain, relatively soft metal and coarse-grain, high-hardness metal are sprayed alternately to make multiple layers. Thus, an embossing roll with a very sharply rugged surface can be obtained. |
