PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a total reflecting mirror for guiding laser light and to provide superior reflectance by forming an intermediate layer of Ni or an Ni alloy on an Al or Al alloy substrate for the mirror and by vacuum depositing gold, silver or copper. CONSTITUTION:A metallic substrate 1 for a reflecting mirror for laser light is formed with Al or an Al alloy. The substrate 1 is plated with Ni in a sulfamate bath contg. NiCl2, H3BO4 and Ni(SO3.NH2)2 as an Ni plating soln. to form an intermediate layer 2. Gold, silver or copper is then vacuum deposited on the layer 2 in a vacuum deposition apparatus. Thus, a reflecting mirror for laser light with high reflectance is obtd. |
