PURPOSE:To reduce a noise at the time of switchover, by suspending a valve through positioning of a hydraulic tappet mechanism at a descending point, in a valve driving device provided with a valve suspension function. CONSTITUTION:A cam follower 9 which makes opening and closing driving of a switching valve 4 intermittently in connection with a cam 8 which is turned along with a rotation of a crank shaft is hinged through a hydraulic tappet mechanism. Valve suspension is carried out so as to enable positioning of a hydraulic tappet mechanism optionally to either ascending or descending positions in its central axis direction. With this, a noise at the time of switchover is reduced as an impact is alleviated through impact buffering effect due to a hydraulic oil inside a hydraulic pressure chamber at the time of switchover from the suspension to the actuation of the valve. |
