The transducer includes an internal mass(14) which is a cylinder of circular cross section made of heavy metal & has on each side plastic inserts(16,18). Attached to them are membranes(20,22) at the inside faces of which are glued with conductive resin circular discs(24,26), the other side being electrically connected to the center mass by wires(42,44). The assembly is placed into a housing(12) made of a plastic moulding whose internal diameter is a little larger than that of the mass(14). The transducer may be used as an underwater sound receiver/transmitter.
