PURPOSE:To suppress the corrosion of a metallic thin film magnetic recording tape, by providing a vessel, where an active carbon is stored, in corner parts of a cassette to adsorb various kinds of atmospheric gas and moisture. CONSTITUTION:Vessels 5 where an active carbon is stored are provided in corner parts of a cassette having a tape 4 provided with a metallic thin film consisting of iron, cobalt, nickel, or the like. For example, the vessel 5 is shaped into a pentahedron, and a reticulate window is provided on a face 6. Since the active carbon adsorbs corrosive gaseous H2S, SO2, NH3, etc. and moisture, the corrosion of the metallic thin film tape is suppressed to improve the preservability of the tape. |
