PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of goods utilizing a negative pressure, by providing a cross rail part, which has a height equal to or slightly lower than that of a floating face, at right angles to the floating face, which is provided in parallel with the running direction of a magnetic head slider, to form a negative pressure generating part. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 9 to be negative pressure generating parts are formed on the surface of one block 8 of a base material by a grinder. A side rail part 10 is polished specularly. A mask having the same shape as a cross rail part 13 is superposed, and an Al2O3 is vapor-deposited or sputtered to form cross rails 13 having a height equal to or slightly lower than that of the side rail part 10. After magnetic heads 15 are formed, the block 8 is cut by grooves 11. Thus, a magnetic head slider 14 utilizing a negative pressure is produced easily. |
