<p>PURPOSE:To detect a temperature distribution in a specific direction in a body, e.g. the refractory wall of a melting furnace, etc., with high precision by welding plural columnar insulators with pressure and containing them in an armor sheath, embedding an even number of thermocouple wires, and short-circuiting every couple of thermocouple wires electrically. CONSTITUTION:A columnar glass insulator 3 has an even number of and >=4 axially piercing holes 6 and while those insulators 3 are arranged in series, one sheet of metallic foil 4 having two through holes is interposed between the insulators 3. Then, thermocouple wires 2 and 2' are run through the through holes and in this case, sheets of metallic foil 4 where the thermocouple wires 2 and 2' are passed are arranged at different positions in a circumferential direction. Therefore, the thermocouple wires 2 and 2' each piece only one sheet of metallic foil 4 lengthwise and those sheets of metallic foil 4 are held at different positions in the circumferential direction. A recessed part 7 is an arrangement seat for the metallic foil 4, but the metallic foil 4 is very thin in general, so the formation of the recessed part 7 may be omitted.</p> |
