PURPOSE:To fix the peripheral speed of a roll, by projecting light upon a tooth height part of a roll gear formed by providing a gear to a roll, converting light reflected and transmitted to and through a tooth groove and a tooth thickness part photoelectrically, and using the converted pulses. CONSTITUTION:A roll 1 is supported rotatably on a supporting shaft 2 through a bearing in the roll. An internal gear 3 is provided to one end of the roll 1 and its diameter is equal to the roll diameter. A small gear 30 engages the roll gear 3. A photosensor 4 projects light on the nearly center position of tooth height (h) of the roll gear 3 as shown in Fig. The output of the photosensor 4 is passed through a gate 5, digital counter 6, and arithmetic device 7 to display the result of a measurement of the peripheral speed on a display 8. |
