PURPOSE:To obtain a humidity sensor having quick response speed and linear relative humidity vs resistance characteristics and also, small hystersis characteristics, by providing a high molecular polycation on an insulating porous carrier. CONSTITUTION:A high molecular polycation is carrid on an insulating porous carrier made of ceramics such as alumina, a tape of nonalkali glass or synethetic or natural high molecular products. The high molecular polycation containing cations having on quaternary ammonium salt in a main chain or side chain of the macromolecule, e.g. (1) diallyl amine derivative (2) 4-(4-pyridyl)-1,6- heptadiene derivative, (3) 3-chlorodiallyl acetamide derivative is used. Characteristics of a humidity sensor carrying the high molecular polycation prepared by impregnating an aqueous solution of copolymer formulaIof dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride and sulfur dioxide to the tap of nonalkali glass and hereafter, removing moisture by heating, are shown by figure. |
