PURPOSE:To detect abnormal oscillation accurately by determining the threshold value of knocking of an internal combustion engine according to the number of times of ignition of a plug, and deciding on the knocking. CONSTITUTION:An electric signal transducing part 1 transduces mechanical oscillation of an internal combustion engine into an electric signal S, which is sampled by a sampling part 2 to send a sampled value to a knocking detection part 5. The number of times of ignition of a plug is calculated by an ignition frequency counting part 3, whose output value Mi is sent to a threshold holding part 4 to decide on the threshold value E of knocking stored on the basis of the value, thereby sending the threshold value to a knocking detection part 5. The knocking detection part 5 compares the sampled value Si with the threshold value Ei and decides on a knocking state when Si>=Ei. |
