PURPOSE:The cultivation of a microorganism in Paecilomyces produces ML- 236B, a physiologically active substance, used as a preventive or remedy for arteriosclerosis, hyperlipemia and other diseases. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism in Paecilomyces, capable of producing ML- 236B, e.g., Paecilomyces viridis No. 2016 (FERM-6236) or its variant or mutant is inoculated in an enriched medium and cultured under aerobic conditions at 20-30 deg.C and ML-236B is collected from the culture mixture. |
