The display includes digits (2b) mounted flat on a printed circuit board (1). In order to be able to see these from two distinct directions a prism of transparent material (3) lies on top of them. The prism as a right angle triangle section, with the hypotenuse laying over the numbers. One of the other surfaces (31) of the prism is partially silvered so that the image of the number display may be seen either through this face, or internally reflected and hence through the other face (34). Blocks (4, 5) retain the prism is place over the circuit board components. The device may be used on cash register displays. Unitary with the circuit board (1) is an associated keyboard and processor.
