The box is of a glued cardboard construction and may be used to contain fruit, having a rectangular shape in plan with longitudinal side walls and end walls which return internally overhead. The walls extend the respective edges of the base panel and the returns extend the end walls, both the flaps (110-113) and the tabs (115-118) having a width equal to the height of the longitudinal side walls (101,102). The blank from which the box is fabricated is formed by cutting a rectangular piece of paper cardboard. Waste is avoided and the cardboard may be of the simple or doubly corrugated type appropriately lined on both faces.
