Feed taking bag from flat pile - uses suction grips on laterally displaceable bars with separation by rocker-mounted suction grips attaching trailing edge

The conveyor uses laterally displaceable suction bars (7) to move empty bags (4) one by one from a stack on a conveyor belt to a post where they are opened. Second suction grips (39) mounted on jack (34) actuated cranked rocking levers (36) effect separation by lifting the middle of the trailing edge of the top sack. A clamp (11) secures the pile once the top bag is engaged by the second grips, which then let the bag go as it is picked up by the bars, the lever being mounted on pivoting arms (33) actuated by further jacks (31). The bars transfer the bag to a longitudinally displaceable table with bag-aligning fingers projecting through slot holes pivoting pincer then gripping the top bag corners and presenting the top edge to suction grips effecting the opening.
