PURPOSE:To improve operation precision without generating a modulation or demodulation amplitude/phase error due to variation in the reference potential of a modulated or a demodulated signal, by imposing balanced driving type two- phase modulation through an out-of-phase branching circuit. CONSTITUTION:When the potential at a terminal 3 is higher than the potential at a terminal 12, a modulated signal current flows through the branch circuit of a terminal 3, LPF11, strip line L4, diode D9, strip line 14, LPF13, and an input terminal 12; and a carrier signal is transmitted to an input terminal 1, L4, D9, L14, slot lines SL7 and L8, and an output terminal 2. When the potential difference between terminals 3 and 12 is reversed, the modulated signal current flows through the branch circuit of the terminal 12, LPF13, L14, D10, L4, LPF11, and terminal 3, and the carrier signal is transmitted to a terminal 1, L4, D10, L14, SL7, L8, and terminal 2. An ultrahigh frequency signal at the terminal 2 is passed through the out-of-phase branching circuit including SL7 while crossing the L14 with electric length lambda/2 in the center to obtain an out-of-phase signal, thus imposing balanced driving type two-phase modulation. |
