The electronic musical instrument uses digital techniques with the counter couting progressively. The digital circuits are suitable for mfg. by large-scale integration techniques. The time variation of the higher harmonic structure is digitally processed to give a more attractive tone. The volume control uses a digital technique. It has a period counted to convert the musical sound wave into digital pulses. This is performed by dividing the period into blocks with several counting stages. The musical notes in each block are characterised by a positive or a negative sign. The major components are an input key signal decoder (1), time interval circuit(2), wave-form distributor(3), decoder(5), volume control(7), folding circuit(6), signal counter(8), accumulator(9), analogue converter (10) and loudspeaker (11).
