<p>A pad for protecting a catheter tube from accidental disturbance comprises a block of flexible plastic foam, pref. polyurethane, having a flat face coated with an antiseptic adhesive and a passage or slit through which the catheter tube can be inserted axially or obliquely. The adhesive surface is used to secure the block to the patient's skin, to inhibit accidental disturbance of the catheter tube and associated puncture zone during motion of person in sleep. Blocks sit radially to allow mounting on a catheter tube in situ pref. have one or both faces of the slit coated with adhesive to secure the catheter position through the body of the block after mounting.</p> |
