Spout or neck for mounting on a container with thin flexible walls is provided with a base flange adjacent to a cylindrical tubular body having a moulded thread to accept an annular collar for clamping the borders of an opening in the container body on to the upper surface of the base flange. Used esp. for mounting relatively rigid moulded plastics spouts with a bore of greater than 32 mm onto containers with bodies of flexible polyethylene film or sheet; the clamped joint is more secure and more leakproof than a coaxial sleeve mounting, being less sensitive to variations in the thickness of the container body material. Pref. the flange surface features one or more concave annular surface channels and the clamping ring a corresp. number of radiused annular ribs to clamp the film borders into the flange grooves.
