Reinforcing framework for cast underground panel - has end members which cooperate with framework of adjacent panel section

The reinforcing framework for an underground panel comprises at least one vertical end member (4) which cooperates with a correspondingly shaped element on the framework of the adjacent panel section. The panel is cast in the ground by placing protective tubes (9) over the members and placing the framework in a trench abutting a curved end shuttering panel (8). Concrete is cast over the framework and, when dry, the shuttering panels are removed and the tubes split to expose the end members allowing interconnection between the frameworks of adjacent panel sections.
