Self aligning screw on airtight cap perfume bottle - has ribs on bottle neck engaging grooves in transverse inside face of cap

The self-aligning airtight cap (10), is used on a perfume bottle of which the top part (10) at least has an oval or an angular shape. It has an internal thread which engages an external thread on the neck (12) of the bottle and is incorporated in a decorative housing of the same shape as the top of the bottle. Alignment with the bottle is effected by a rib (14) on the top of the neck engaging a groove (16) in the transverse face (18) of the cap. An axial projection (14) from the cap face penetrates the neck to effect the seal by contacting the internal neck faces. The grooves may have a 'U' section with nominal tapering whilst the ribs may have a half round section, the neck being provided with two diametrically opposed ribs or several at regular intervals. Alternatively the neck may be grooved and the cap ribbed.
