An electrical coil is proposed which is used for producing a magnetic field or for producing a voltage. The electrical coil consists of sections which are deposited on a strip-shaped insulating material film as a printed circuit and make contact with one another by means of a fold on the insulating material film, and are connected in series. Balling of the individual coil sections is avoided in that the coil sections (12, 22) consist of a spirally running conductor track (11, 21) and the coil sections are juxtaposed in the longitudinal direction of the insulating material film (10, 20). The fold on the insulating material film (10, 20) ensures that, of the conductor tracks (11, 21), the inner end, which has a contact surface (13, 25) is to make contact with a contact surface (13, 26) at the start of the adjacent coil section (12, 22). Such coils can be used both in electrical machines and in electrical test equipment. They are used, when a voltage is applied, to produce a magnetic field inside the coil, or to produce voltages, or to measure magnetic field changes in the coil. <IMAGE>
