PURPOSE:To join a pipe with a plate simply by caulking without requiring welding, by inserting a pipe having a flange on one end and a projection on the inner face into the hole of a plate and pushing out the projected part to the outside. CONSTITUTION:A projection 6 is formed on the inner face, and a flange 3 is formed on an end of, for instance, an Al pipe 1 simultaneously by utilizing resistance heating. The pipe 1 is inserted into a hole of a steel plate 2 from below until it is stopped by the flange 3. Next, the pipe 1 and steel plate 2 are pressed down by a cylindrical jig 4 having inner diameter that inscribed to the outer diameter of the pipe 1, and a punch 5 is passed through the inner face of the pipe by a press, and the projection 6 is pushed out to a space 7 provided in the lower part of the jig 4. By this way, the plate 2 is held between the projected part and the flange 3, and joined by caulking. |
