PURPOSE:To obtain a superior image by adding a dye for forming a specified dye image in combination with a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer, forming the oxidation product of a developing agent under alkali conditions, and reacting the dye with the oxidation product to eliminate the dye as a function of exposure. CONSTITUTION:A hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. a dye for forming a dye image is laid, and on the layer a silver halide emulsion layer is laid. The dye is a fluorescein deriv. such as a compound represented by the formula[where each of R<1> and R<2> is H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, OH or the like, R<3> is H or alkyl, X is -(CO)-, -SO2- or -CH2-, Y is a group capable of causing alkali cleavage at the Y-N bond part by oxidation, Z is an org. ballast group required to passivate the compound during treatment under alkali conditions, W<-> is an anion, l is 2-4, each of m<1> and m<2> is 1 or 2, n is 0 or 1, and in case of n is 0, at least one of R<1> and R<2> is the same org. ballast group as Z]. The oxidation product of a developing agent is formed under alkali conditions, and by reacting the oxidation product with the dye, the dye is eliminated in accordance with the extent of exposure to obtain a color image. |
