PURPOSE:To stop the running of a tape, by counting a difference between a running pulse signal and a winding pulse signal, and detecting a failure running state when the count value of a counter exceeds a specified value. CONSTITUTION:The 1st rotating sensor 6 outputting a running pulse signal in response to the rotary shaft of a capstan shaft 1 and the 2nd rotary sensor 17 outputting a winding pulse signal in response to the rotation of a winding reel 13, are provided. A counter counts the running pulse signal and clears the winding pulse signal. Thus, in a normal running state, the count value does not exceeds a prescribed value, but in case of abnormal running state, no winding pulse signal is inputted and the count value of the counter reaches a prescribed value or over. A tape running stop signal is outputted from the counter to stop the running of the tape. |
