PURPOSE:To separate and recover shot and molding sand efficiently by acting the positive pressure and sucking negative pressure of cooling air upon the shot passed through a screen and the molding sand of small grain sizes. CONSTITUTION:Mixtures of molding sand and shot for backup of molds are passed through a separating vessel 18 to separate and remove large lumps therefrom, then the mixtures are conveyed with a conveyor 17 and are introduced via a hopper 4 into a rotary frame body 10 through the openings of a screen 1. The shot and molding sand of small grain sizes are dropped through a steel body 11 and the lumps of large diameters remaining in the body 10 are properly carried out. The shot and molding sand past the screen 1 are guided to a dropping pipeline 2. The ascending flow of the cooling air ejecting through the ejection holes 4 in a cooling case 3 and the suction force of a sucking machine 31 connected to a separator 5 are acted in the pipeline 2 to admit the molding sand of small specific gravities into the separator 5. The shot dropping into the case 3 from the pipeline 2 is cooled by the cooling air and is deposited in a dropping chute 26. |
