PURPOSE:To fasten a tube and a header plate in good hermetical sealing characteristics in assembling a tube and a header plate of a heat exchanger, by placing an elastic sheet on the header plate, and after pushing in the tube, expanding the tube by a tube expander. CONSTITUTION:When fixing an Al tube 1 provided with fins to an Al header plate 3 of a heat exchanger, a thin elastic sheet 10 made of rubber or polymer is attached, and then the tube 1 is pressed into the header plate 3. Because of its elasticity, the elastic sheet 10 covers the tube 1 without ripping. Under this condition, a tube expander 11 is pressed into the tube 1 and the tube 1 is expanded by breaking the elastic sheet 10. The tube 1 adheres closely to the header through the elastic sheet 10 and prevents leakage of heat exchanging medium from between the two. |
