PURPOSE:To produce a wire rod having good surface characteristics easily by setting the pressure for primary descaling prior to rought rolling at pressure higher than specific values and adding at least one square caliber in an oval- round system to finish rolling. CONSTITUTION:In obtaining a wire rod by hot rolling of a blank material, the blank material is subjected to primary descaling by high pressure water higher than 90kg/cm<2> prior to rough rolling after heating of the blank material. In the stage of finish rolling, at least one square caliber is used in combination with oval calibers and round calibers, by which the material is rolled. Then the wire rod having excellent surface characteristics of about <=1.5mu average surface roughness is manufactured easily. |
