By means of the invention, it is to be ensured in particular that current is not unnecessarily consumed when the vehicle is not in operation. This is achieved in that the circuit (10) is closed when the driver's seat is subjected to loading and the light circuit (10) is opened when the driver's seat is relieved of loading. In addition, the safety of the vehicle occupants is to be increased, that is to say the latter are forced to put on the safety belt before beginning a journey. This is achieved in that at least one (defined here) secondary ignition circuit (19) is closed by the loading of the driver's seat and the engagement of the associated safety belt (14) and this secondary ignition circuit (19) is opened when the driver's seat is relieved of loading or the safety belt (14) is opened, in which case this secondary ignition circuit is located directly or indirectly in the main ignition circuit (9) or else can be constructed as a main ignition circuit; in this way, the driver is protected. In order to protect the passengers, it is proposed that the defined ignition circuit (20) is opened (or remains open) as a result of the loading of at least one (respective) passenger seat and the secondary ignition circuit (19) is closed when the safety belt (14) is closed, in which case this ignition circuit (20), as well as the secondary ignition circuit (19), can be supplied connected to the main ignition circuit (9).
