PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for change an existing signal cable even when the number of signals increases, by superposing data of a microcomputer on the signal of a signal cable which connects a copying machine body to its attachment. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine body 11 and its attachment 18 connected by a signal cable 41 are equipped with compatible transmission and reception parts 20 and 30 respectively, and those transmission and reception parts 20 and 30 each have a microcomputer to perform series-parallel conversion and parallel- series conversion of data. Then, high frequency components of an FS-modulated signal outputted from the transmitting unit on the transmission and reception part side 20 are multiplexed through the signal cable 41 after being passed through a capacitor 42 and then supplied to the receiving unit on the transmission and reception part side 30 through a capacitor 43. Consequently, even when the numbers of signals is to be increased in future, the existing cable need not be changed and the constitution is simple, so this is applicable easily to the existing copying machine. |
