A labelling machine including a transfer roller 6 and a guide member 3 in the form of a tunnel guide member which guides the tape from the roll 1 over the transfer roller. The guide member is movable away from the transfer roller under the action of spring 5 when the labelling machine has its bottom cover 4 opened to facilitate insertion of the label tape. The guide member 3 includes a tunnel 31 formed between a lower part 32, a cover 33, and sidewalls 38. Long slots in the sides of the lower part allow teeth 62 at the axial sides of roller 6 to engage notches at the sides of the label tape, and rails 36 engage in grooves 61 in the roller 6. Printing pad 39 is connected to the lower end of the tunnel member 3 the pad being pushed up as bottom cover 4 is closed, so pivoting member 3 clockwise about pins 37 so that upper part of member 3 contacts roller 6. A roller 35 carried by member 3 and a hand operated roller 2 allow label tape to be fed down through tunnel 31 during insertion. <IMAGE> |
