PURPOSE:To make it possible to eliminate effectively clogging in a nozzle by the constitution that a clogging removale solution is made forcibly to flow in an area near the nozzle in the direction that intersects with the direction of jetting of the ink. CONSTITUTION:A pressure boosting device 1 is operated by an electric signal; the device increases the ink pressure in an ink chamber 2, and jets out ink drops from a nozzle 4 to make recording. When the nozzle 4 or a nozzle 5 is clogged, an ultrasonic wave vibrator 21 is operated to develop ultrasonic wave vibration in a nozzle plate 24 for freeing the nozzles 4 and 5 of attached dirt, etc. and at the same time a clogging removal solution is made to flow into the vicinities of the nozzle 4 and 5 from a clogging removal solution tank 28 to flush dirt and other impurities into an ink discharge tank 29. Water or an ink solvent is used as a clogging removal solution. |
