PURPOSE:To suppress wearing-out in the mutual contact part between a pump lever and a pump piston by allowing the head part of an accelerator pump piston rod to be covered with a contact piece made of synthetic resin, in a carburetor equipped with an accelerator pump. CONSTITUTION:An accelerator pump 42 is installed in the contiguous part to the second float chamber of a carburetor 12. Said accelerator pump 42 is allowed to be interlocked with the opening and closing operations of a throttle valve 15 through a link mechanism 43 installed above the carburetor 12. A contace piece 50A made of synthetic resin is applied onto the head part of a piston rod 50. Therefore, the friction coefficient between a pump lever 46 and the contact piece 50A is reduced, and generation of wearing-out between the both is suppressed, and the pump stroke of the accelerator pump 42 is kept always constant, and the acceleration performance obtained is stabilized. |
