Silver peroxide reaction products and their use in batteries

A silver peroxide reaction product, suitable for use as the positive electrode of a battery, is obtained by treating silver peroxide with lead or a lead compound and an alkaline earth metal salt and/or an alkali metal salt. The treatment may take place simultaneously with the production of the peroxide.
