Heating process for a cement oven, characterised in that, in the absence of an air supply, the decomposition gases from the raw material are recycled and passed through an electrical plasma generating unit (2, 13) which brings them to temperatures substantially above 1 400 degrees C, and that they are projected thus heated on to the material subjected to clinkering.
