<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous read by providing at least one erroneous read preventing sensor near a read sensor and detecting a shift in position of a card through said sensors. CONSTITUTION:In a card reader which reads information on characters, etc., recorded on a card, the card 1 moves as shown by an arrow and a read sensor 3 read information recorded in a recording area 2. Then, erroneous read preventing sensors 4a and 4b are provided near the rear sensor 3. If the card 1 or recording area 2 shifts in position, the recording area is caught by the sensor circuit 4a or 4b to input a signal. This signal is inputted to an OR circuit 9 through the sensor circuit 7a or 7b and when the input of either circuit is at a high level, an unreadable signal is inputted to a read circuit 10 to decide whether a read signal from the read sensor 3 is true or false.</p> |
