<p>The collapsible/stackable container described comprises a bottom unit and collapsible front, rear and end walls; the front wall is hingedly connected at the lower edge thereof to the front edge of the bottom unit for both outward and inward pivoting movement; the rear wall includes a substantially flat fold portion at its lower portion extending parallel to and above the plane of the bottom unit; the rear wall has also marginal and portions which are inwardly bent in the plane of the end walls; the end walls are hingedly connected at their upright rear ends to the inwardly bent upright and portions of the rear wall by hinges which produce raising of the and walls during their inward folding movement in lapping relation to the rear wall; the flat fold portion hag end corners which are inwardly spaced from the end walls, whereby, due to the position of the end wall hinges with respect to said corners, the and walls, during their folding movement, raise sufficiently to clear the corners of the flat fold portion and also the hinge connection between the flat fold portion and the bottom unit; when the end walls are folded in lapping relation to the rear walls the assembly of the rear wall and the end walls may be collapsed upon the front wall when the latter is in collapsed position over the bottom unit; a leg member is provided bracing each corner, allowing the container to be stacked in either the collapsed position or the erected position.</p> |
